# Account and billing

How Pharaoh plans work: the free plan keeps one repository live, Pro keeps every repository live, and the setup page handles upgrades and billing.

The free plan keeps one repository live per workspace. Other authorized repositories are listed in setup; switch the live repository there or through `pharaoh_account`.

Personal Pro keeps repositories on a personal GitHub account live. Team Pro covers repositories in a GitHub organization. See [current plans and prices](https://pharaoh.so/#pricing) for the amounts and included access.

Use [setup](https://mcp.pharaoh.so/setup) to view each workspace's plan, live repositories and upgrade link. Use [Manage billing](https://mcp.pharaoh.so/manage) to open the billing portal.

Each teammate connects their own client with GitHub. Paying for a workspace does not grant access to repositories GitHub has not authorized.

## What a plan changes

A live repository is mapped, refreshed on every push and answers tool queries. Every tool works the same on any live repository, whatever the plan. The plan decides how many repositories stay live, and Pro adds [PR Guard](/docs/use-pharaoh/pr-guard.md) checks on pull requests.

A workspace is one GitHub account or organization, and each repository follows the plan of the workspace that owns it. If you belong to a Pro organization and also have a free personal account, every organization repository is live, plus one personal repository.

## Switch the free live repository

Switch in setup, which needs write access to the repository, or ask your AI to call `pharaoh_account` with the `set_free_repo` action. You can switch once per hour. Switching maps the new repository and retires the old one. A retired repository stops answering at once; its graph is kept for 30 days, so switching back within that time answers without a new map.

When you ask about a repository that isn't live, the answer names the live repository and offers the switch or an upgrade.

## Upgrades, failed payments and cancellation

Upgrading queues every repository in the workspace for mapping, and connected clients see the new plan within 5 minutes. If a payment fails, the workspace stays on Pro while Stripe retries it. After cancellation, Pro continues to the end of the billing period, then the workspace keeps one live repository.
